| Relive an exciting period of history in this action-packed adventure, a challenging historical simulation that teaches you about the life of the Western immigrants by putting you in the midst of the action.
Players learn about a crucial period in American history by actually living it. They take on the personas of settlers heading west along the Oregon Trail to either Oregon or Sacramento, California. Players choose what type of person they wish to play and each has different skills and varying amounts of money to spend along the way. They can name their settler and the members of his/her family as well as set the ages of the characters.
The Oregon Trail II is no easy trail to ride as danger lurks around every bend, ranging from rampaging rivers that can sweep your wagon away to the danger of disease, wild animals and possibly hostile Indians. There is even a chance that settlers will die en route before ever reaching their promised land.
Challenges include: raging rivers and snowbound mountains, trading for decent clothing and simple survival (hunting buffalo) are abundant. The game features full-motion video, over 5,000 photo-realistic images, literally hundreds of historically famous landmarks and more than a hundred characters to meet.
